·This Claude Partner Network Agreement (this "CPNA") governs your participation in the Claude Partner Network Program (the "Program") and is an agreement between Anthropic (as defined below, and also referred to herein as "we," "us," or "our") and you or the entity you represent ("you" or "your"). This CPNA also incorporates by reference, and is deemed to include the terms and conditions contained in, our Partner Program Guide, the Anthropic Policies, and any exhibits or other documents or terms (including any Program Specific Terms) that are incorporated by reference in any of the foregoing, each of which forms an integral part of this CPNA. Please see Section J for definitions of certain capitalized terms used in this CPNA.

·This CPNA takes effect on the day you electronically agree to these terms by any method made available by Anthropic for such purpose (the "Effective Date"). By doing so, you acknowledge that you have read and understand this CPNA and agree to be bound by its terms and conditions. You also hereby represent to us that you are lawfully able to enter into contracts (e.g., you are not a minor) and, if you are entering into this CPNA for an entity, such as the company you work for, you represent to us that you have legal authority to bind that entity.

AA. Program.

  • 1Participation. To participate in the Program and utilize any of its benefits, you must (a) submit a complete Program application through the Claude Partner Hub portal, (b) receive written approval from Anthropic to join the Program, which shall be granted in Anthropic's sole discretion (including, if accepted, as to your Program level or tier), and (c) enter into this CPNA (and this CPNA must not have been terminated).
  • 2Affiliate Participation. Your Affiliates may participate in the Program, subject to their compliance with this CPNA and separate execution of any applicable Program Specific Terms; provided, you remain fully liable to us for your Affiliates' actions or omissions under, and their compliance with, this CPNA. Any breach of the CPNA by your Affiliates will be deemed a breach by you, and we reserve the right to terminate any Affiliate's participation in the Program upon written notice.
  • 3Account. If you are accepted into the Program, you may register a Program account where you can manage your participation in the Program. Anthropic may use your Program Account Information to send you information about Anthropic, the Program or other relevant information. Program Account Information and any other personal information Anthropic or any of its Affiliates receive from you or otherwise collect to maintain and facilitate your participation in the Program will be processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. You are solely responsible for all activity under your Program account. You will promptly notify Anthropic if you believe your account has been compromised or is subject to a denial of service or similar malicious attack.
  • 4Benefits. As part of the Program, we may invite you to participate in opportunities or provide you with funding or other benefits related to your activities that support usage, promotion, or knowledge of the Anthropic Services. Any benefits, or their continued availability to you, are not guaranteed and may be subject to change as further described in this CPNA. If you receive benefits for which we determine you are not eligible, you will return such benefits upon our request, or we may cancel such benefits or make corresponding reductions to any of your future benefits. You may not use any benefits for any purpose other than for their intended use as set forth in the Partner Program Guide or otherwise communicated to you by Anthropic. Benefits may not be used by your employees for their personal benefit. All Program benefits and details thereof are set forth in the Partner Program Guide and may be subject to additional Program Specific Terms.
  • 5Government Customer Projects. If you accept any benefits under this CPNA in support of a project relating to an existing or potential business relationship with a Governmental Entity (a "Government Customer Project"), you agree that:
  • 5.1If the benefits are in the form of funding, the Governmental Entity must derive independent financial benefit from your consumption of the benefits (i.e., free or discounted products or services from you).
  • 5.2You will comply with all procurement laws, rules, regulations, and contract provisions, including any that pertain to discounts and rebates, or that pertain to ethics and integrity (e.g., prohibitions against gratuities, bribery, corruption, kickbacks, conflicts of interest or false statements or claims). Your use of benefits under this CPNA must not create a conflict of interest (or the appearance of a conflict of interest) for you or Anthropic or give rise to any liability for Anthropic. Anthropic recommends you confirm with the applicable Governmental Entity's contracting officer, ethics official, or other applicable Representative that your use of the benefits provided under this CPNA in connection with the applicable Government Customer Project is lawful, ethical, and permissible.
  • 5.3You will disclose to the applicable Governmental Entity the details regarding your receipt of benefits under this CPNA to the extent required by Applicable Law, such Governmental Entity's contracting requirements, or Anthropic. Anthropic is not responsible for confirming the accuracy of such disclosures prior to distributing the benefits under this CPNA. If you provide recommendations to a Governmental Entity regarding Anthropic's services, your receipt of such benefits should not impact such recommendations, and you will not use such benefits for the Government Customer Project unless you first disclose in writing to the applicable Governmental Entity that Anthropic is providing you benefits for the Government Customer Project.
  • 6Fees. To the extent applicable, any Program fees payable by you to participate in the Program, and the terms and conditions associated with the payment thereof, will be set forth in the Partner Program Guide (including, if applicable, in the relevant Program Specific Terms).
  • 7Conduct.
  • 7.1You will at all times (i) conduct your activities in connection with the Program in a professional and competent manner and in accordance with the Anthropic Policies, and (ii) not engage in any harmful, false, or deceptive acts or practices (including making any unauthorized, false, misleading or illegal statements in connection with this CPNA, or regarding the Program). You are solely responsible for ensuring you are eligible to receive, and that you are using, any benefits under the Program in accordance with Applicable Law. You will be responsible for your Representatives' compliance with the terms and conditions of this CPNA as if their acts and omissions were your acts and omissions.
  • 7.2You will not, directly or indirectly, offer, promise, give or authorize the giving of anything of value to any government official or other person for the purpose of (i) influencing any act or decision in connection with this CPNA, (ii) inducing any person to act in violation of their lawful duty or (iii) securing any improper business advantage. You will immediately notify Anthropic if you become aware of (A) any investigation, enforcement action, complaint, litigation, or other proceedings against you or your Representatives related to the Program or your activities in connection with the Program, (B) any government investigation, enforcement action, or formal allegation involving Partner or its personnel, including any matter under Anti-Bribery Laws (as defined below), sanctions, export controls, or the AI Diffusion Rule or (C) any fact or circumstance that would render any representation or warranty you made under this CPNA- including representations when accepting this CPNA, in the Program application, or in any subsequent recertification-materially inaccurate.
  • 7.3While you are a participant in the Program, you will comply with all Applicable Laws (and you will not attempt to cause or knowingly support any violation of any Applicable Law), including all applicable export control and sanctions laws and regulations, including (i) those maintained by the U.S. Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control ("OFAC"), the U.S. Bureau of Industry and Security (including the Export Administration Regulations and the AI Diffusion Rule), the U.S. Department of Defense Trade Controls, the European Union, the United Kingdom and any other applicable jurisdiction and (ii) the International Traffic in Arms Regulations ("ITAR") maintained by the U.S. Department of State. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, in performing your obligations under this CPNA, you will comply with all applicable commercial and public anti-bribery laws ("Anti-Bribery Laws"), including the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act of 1977, the UK Bribery Act of 2010 and any local equivalents in any jurisdictions where you operate or transact, which prohibit corrupt offers of anything of value, either directly or indirectly to anyone, including government officials, to obtain or keep business or to secure any other improper commercial advantage. You will (A) comply with Anthropic's anti-bribery due diligence process, including providing complete and accurate information in response to Anthropic's requests and completing any periodic compliance certifications or recertifications Anthropic may reasonably require, in each case within the timeframe reasonably specified by Anthropic and (B) not make any facilitation payments, which are payments to induce officials to perform routine functions they are otherwise obligated to perform. For the purposes of Section A.7, "government official" includes any government employee; candidate for public office; and employee of government-owned or government-controlled companies, public international organizations, and political parties.
  • 7.4You will not make any representations or warranties concerning the Program on behalf of Anthropic. Anthropic will not be responsible for any representations or warranties made by you concerning the Program.
  • 7.5You agree that you will only disclose customer contact details to Anthropic in connection with your participation in the Program if you have obtained any appropriate consents, as applicable, from such customer to allow Anthropic or an Anthropic-authorized partner to use such details to communicate directly with the customer for purposes related to Anthropic (or Anthropic-authorized partners) soliciting a direct or indirect sales or service provider relationship with such customer. For the avoidance of doubt, neither you nor Anthropic will be acting as the other party's processor (as defined under the EU General Data Protection Regulation, or its equivalent under other applicable data protection laws) in connection with your acceptance into the Program, and each party is an independent controller of personal information received. Any disclosure of personal information under a particular Program initiative may be subject to additional terms set forth in the Partner Program Guide or applicable Program Specific Terms. If we provide any personal information to you, you will handle, use, process, and delete such personal information (a) in accordance with applicable data protection laws, (b) only for the purpose for which it is provided, and (c) in accordance with your privacy policy.

BB. Confidentiality.

  • 1Confidential Information. The parties may share Confidential Information in connection with the Program. The receiving party ("Recipient") may only use Confidential Information of the disclosing party (the "Discloser") to exercise its rights and perform its obligations under this CPNA and will use reasonable care to protect against any unauthorized disclosure of Discloser's Confidential Information. Recipient may only share Discloser's Confidential Information with Recipient's Representatives that have a need to know such Confidential Information and who are bound to obligations of confidentiality at least as protective as those provided in this CPNA. Recipient is responsible for all acts and omissions of its Representatives relating to this CPNA or the activities contemplated hereby.
  • 2Exclusions. Confidential Information excludes information that: (a) becomes publicly available through no fault of Recipient or its Representatives, (b) is obtained by Recipient from a third party without a breach of the third party's obligations of confidentiality, or (c) is independently developed by Recipient without use of the Discloser's Confidential Information. Recipient may disclose Discloser's Confidential Information to the extent it is required by Applicable Law and will, except where expressly prohibited, notify Discloser of the required disclosure promptly and cooperate with Discloser's efforts to prevent or narrow the scope of disclosure.
  • 3Destruction Request. Recipient will destroy Discloser's Confidential Information promptly upon request, except where retained to comply with Applicable Law or as copies in Recipient's automated back-up systems, which will remain subject to these obligations of confidentiality while maintained.
  • 4Security Incidents. You will notify Anthropic in writing within the seventy-two (72) hours upon becoming aware of any confirmed security incident affecting Anthropic's Confidential Information (including any personal information).

CC. Intellectual Property.

  • 1Rights Granted by Anthropic. Solely in connection with your participation in the Program, and only while you remain a participant in good standing, Anthropic hereby grants you a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, non-sublicensable and non-transferable license to display Anthropic Trademarks, subject to, in accordance with, and to the extent permitted by, this CPNA (including the Partner Program Guide) and the Anthropic Brand & Trademark Guidelines. All goodwill arising from your use of the Anthropic Trademarks shall inure to the benefit of Anthropic.
  • 2Rights granted by You. In connection with Anthropic's exercise of such rights, Anthropic may make reasonable, minor changes to Partner Materials, such as resizing or reformatting Partner Materials. As between the parties, you own and reserve all right, title, and interest in and to the Partner Materials. All goodwill arising from Anthropic's or its Affiliates' use of the Partner Trademarks shall inure to your benefit.
  • 3Restricted Use. Each party may use the other party's Trademarks only as expressly permitted in this CPNA. Each party may revoke the other party's right to use its Trademarks under this CPNA with written notice to the other party; provided that a reasonable period of time is provided to cease use of the Trademarks.
  • 4Reservation of Rights. Except as expressly stated in this CPNA, this CPNA does not grant either party any rights to the other's intellectual property, by implication, estoppel or otherwise. For the avoidance of doubt, acceptance into the Program does not authorize you to access, use, resell or sublicense Anthropic Services, and nothing in this CPNA grants you any such rights. Any use of the Anthropic Services shall be governed by your relevant Customer Agreement(s).
  • 5Contacts. By registering a Program account, you hereby consent to Anthropic contacting you (e.g., by email) for any of the following purposes: (a) regarding Program updates; (b) with relevant Program promotional materials, and/or (c) to reasonably request information from you about your business and customers as it relates to your participation in the Program. You represent and warrant that you have obtained the consents necessary for Anthropic to send these communications to your Representatives who are also registered in your Program account.
  • 6Feedback. If you provide (in your sole discretion) Anthropic with any suggestions for, contributions to or feedback on the Program ("Feedback"), you hereby grant Anthropic and its Affiliates an irrevocable, perpetual, transferable, sublicensable, worldwide, paid-up, royalty-free license to use such Feedback.

  • 2.5You may terminate this CPNA immediately with Notice to Anthropic if Anthropic modifies this CPNA, in accordance with Section I.2, in a manner that materially and adversely (i) reduces your rights or (ii) increases your obligations or liability under this CPNA in any material respect (excluding any change to, or discontinuation of, benefits under the Partner Program Guide that does not involve changes to any Program Specific Terms).
  • 3Effect of Termination. Upon termination of this CPNA, you must (a) cease all participation in, and activities relating to, the Program, (b) immediately return, cease use of, and remove from your website, or if instructed by Anthropic, destroy, any materials provided to you by Anthropic in connection with the Program in your possession (including any and all materials containing Anthropic Trademarks or Confidential Information to the extent provided to you in connection with the Program) and (c) immediately cease to identify yourself or hold yourself out as a Program participant or Program partner. GG. Indemnification.

  • 1Claims Against You. Anthropic will defend you and your personnel, successors, and assigns from and against any third-party claim, suit, or proceeding alleging that your use of the Anthropic Trademarks in accordance with this CPNA violates any third-party intellectual property right (a "Partner Claim") and indemnify them for any judgment or award that a court of competent jurisdiction or arbitrator grants a third party on such Partner Claim or any amount payable to a third party under any Anthropic-approved settlement of such Partner Claim.

The indemnifying party will retain the right to control the defense of any such Claim, including the selection of counsel, the strategy and course of any litigation or appeals, and any negotiations or settlement or compromise, except that the indemnified party will have the right, not to be exercised unreasonably, to reject any settlement or compromise that requires that it admit wrongdoing or liability or subjects it to an ongoing affirmative obligation. • 4Assignment and Delegation. Neither party may assign its rights or delegate its obligations under this CPNA without the other party's prior written consent, except that Anthropic may assign its rights and delegate its obligations to an Affiliate or as part of a sale of all or substantially all of its business. If a provision of this CPNA is invalid, illegal, or unenforceable in any jurisdiction, such invalidity, illegality, or unenforceability will neither affect any other term or provision of this CPNA nor invalidate or render unenforceable such term or provision in any other jurisdiction. Any invalid, illegal or unenforceable provisions will be interpreted to give effect to the intent of the original provision. If such construction is not possible, the invalid, illegal or unenforceable portion will be severed from this CPNA, but the rest of this CPNA will remain in full force and effect.
  • 7Interpretation. This CPNA will be construed mutually, with neither party considered the drafter. Document and section titles are provided for convenience and will not be interpreted. The phrases "for example," or "including," or "or" are not limiting.

  • 12Force Majeure. Neither party will be liable for failure or delay in performance to the extent caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control.
  • 13Independent Contractors. Anthropic and you are independent contractors, and this CPNA does not create a partnership, joint venture, agency, fiduciary or employment relationship. The use of the term "Anthropic Partner" or "Partner of Anthropic" refers solely to membership in the Program. You will not make any representations, warranties, or guarantees to any third party on behalf of Anthropic. Neither party, nor any of its respective Affiliates, is an agent of the other for any purpose or has the authority to bind the other. This CPNA is non-exclusive, and nothing in it precludes either party from entering into similar arrangements with third parties. Nothing in this CPNA is a revenue, lead, or volume guarantee, and neither party is obligated to purchase the other party's products or services
  • 14Language. All communications and Notices made or given pursuant to this CPNA must be in the English language. The English language version of this CPNA will control in the event of a conflict with any translated versions of this CPNA Anthropic may provide.

·Our Usage Policy (also referred to as our "Acceptable Use Policy" or "AUP") applies to anyone who submits inputs to Anthropic's products or services, all of whom we refer to as "users." This includes individuals using our apps (such as Claude.ai and Claude Code), developers and businesses using our API and developer platforms, customers accessing Claude through cloud providers and authorized resellers, and the end users of products or services integrating Claude. The Usage Policy is intended to prevent our products and services from being used to create or contribute to real-world harm, and to promote the responsible use of our products and services.

·Please review this Usage Policy carefully before using our products or services.

·We will update our policy as our technology and the associated risks evolve or as we learn about unanticipated risks.

·Our Usage Policy is divided into three categories:

  • ·Universal Usage Standards: Our Universal Usage Standards are prohibitions that apply to all users and use cases.
  • ·High-risk Use Case Requirements: Our High-risk Use Case Requirements apply to specific use cases that pose an elevated risk of harm to individuals.
  • ·Additional Use Case Guidelines: Our Additional Use Case Guidelines apply to certain other use cases, including consumer-facing chatbots and agents, products serving minors, agentic use, and software listed in our directories.

·Our Usage Policy focuses on how our products and services are used. Its prohibitions and requirements do not categorically prohibit use by any particular industry or line of business, provided the use of our products and services complies with this Usage Policy.

·Anthropic's Safeguards Team implements detection and monitoring to enforce our Usage Policy. If we suspect that you may have violated our Usage Policy, we may warn you or throttle, limit, suspend, or terminate your access to our products and services.

·Our products also include real-time safeguards that may block or limit certain outputs, but encountering a block does not by itself indicate a violation of the Usage Policy. For certain dual-use or high-risk use cases covered by real-time safeguards in select domains, we may offer programs where you can apply to be granted access to our products and services with adjusted safeguards, such as our Cyber Verification Program and Life Sciences Verification Program, subject to program-specific eligibility criteria.

·If you believe that our model outputs are potentially inaccurate, biased, or harmful, please notify us at usersafety@anthropic.com, or report it directly in our product through the "report issues" thumbs down button or similar feedback features (where available). You can read more about our Safeguards practices and recommendations in our Safeguards Support Center.

·This Usage Policy is calibrated to strike an optimal balance between enabling beneficial uses and mitigating potential harms. Anthropic may enter into contracts with certain governmental customers that tailor use restrictions to that customer's public mission and legal authorities if, in Anthropic's judgment, the contractual use restrictions and applicable safeguards are adequate to mitigate the potential harms addressed by this Usage Policy.

·Certain uses of our products and services can impact an individual's health, legal rights, finances, livelihoods, or access to housing, education, or essential services. When our products are used for these high-risk use cases, we require that a qualified person remain accountable for what is delivered or decided, and that the impacted individual knows AI was involved in the advice or decision. These requirements apply to anyone who uses our products to make a High-risk AI Recommendation or control equipment capable of High-risk Physical Actions.

·These requirements for high-risk use cases are meant to protect individuals. However, they do not replace local legal requirements and restrictions. Users should always default to following local laws if those laws conflict with or add additional requirements to the requirements listed below. Our products and services may not be suitable for all use cases.

·Requirements

·For High-risk AI Recommendations or Physical Actions, users must implement the following controls:

  • ·Qualified human-in-the-loop for advice and decisions - A qualified person must meaningfully review a High-risk AI Recommendation, with the authority to change or modify it, before it is delivered as advice to an individual who might rely on it or before it is used to implement a decision. A qualified person is someone with the training or experience to evaluate the output in that field, and who holds a license where applicable law requires one for the underlying activity. The qualified person remains responsible for the accuracy and appropriateness of what is delivered or decided.
  • ·Disclosure for advice and decisions - An individual who receives advice or who is the subject of a decision based on a High-risk AI Recommendation must be clearly told that AI was used to produce it. Users do not need to identify Anthropic, Claude, or the model used.
  • ·Human control and independent safety limits for physical actions - For High-risk Physical Actions, there must be a qualified individual who is able to observe the equipment's operation and stop it at any time, and the equipment must stop or hold a safe state when that individual intervenes or when connection to our services is lost. Any operating limits to keep the equipment within safe bounds, such as speed, force, reach, temperature, pressure, voltage, energy output, dose, or operating area, must be enforced by the equipment or a controller independent of model output.

·These requirements apply alongside applicable law. For physical devices, they do not replace vehicle, aviation, medical device, machinery, or workplace safety law or certification.

·High-risk AI Recommendations

·The requirements apply when users use our products or services to provide a recommendation in any of the following, which are "High-risk Areas":

  • 1Legal - advising an individual on their legal rights, obligations, or liability, or on what to do in a specific legal matter, or preparing legal documents for them to sign or file.
  • 2Medical - diagnosing a condition; recommending, starting, stopping, or adjusting a treatment or medication, including dose; interpreting an individual's symptoms or test results to triage, provide a diagnosis, advise on treatment risks or side effects, or create a treatment plan. This includes assessing, diagnosing, or treating a mental health condition.
  • 3Finance - a personalized recommendation to buy, sell, hold, or allocate among specific investment products, such as securities, funds, digital assets, or annuities; advising an individual on their own taxes, such as what to report, deduct, or claim; or preparing a tax return for them to sign or file.
  • 4Credit - approving, denying, or setting the amount, rate, or limit of a loan, mortgage, credit line, or similar product, or reducing or closing an existing one, or producing a credit score or creditworthiness assessment used for such decisions.
  • 5Insurance - underwriting or pricing a policy; determining the outcome of a claim; making a coverage, prior-authorization, or medical-necessity determination; cancelling or declining to renew a policy.
  • 6Housing - approving, denying, or ranking a rental or purchase application; terminating a tenancy or initiating eviction or foreclosure.
  • 7Employment - screening, ranking, advancing, or rejecting candidates; hiring; promoting or demoting; setting or changing shifts, hours, or pay; evaluating a worker's performance or behavior, including through disciplining, suspending, or terminating a worker.
  • 8Education and credentials - admitting, rejecting, or ranking applicants; grading an exam or assessment that determines admission, graduation, licensure, or certification (outside of multiple-choice testing); granting, denying, or revoking a professional license or certification; making a determination of academic misconduct or suspending or expelling a student.
  • 9Healthcare access - setting triage or waitlist priority; determining eligibility for, denying, or discontinuing a treatment, service, or care program.
  • 10Public benefits and services - determining eligibility for, or the amount of, government benefits, assistance, or essential services, including suspension and termination.
  • 11Legal status and adjudication - deciding or recommending the outcome of a civil, administrative, or arbitral matter; determining immigration, asylum, or citizenship status.

·Prohibition Reminder: Use of our products or services to make or suggest decisions in law enforcement or criminal justice processes is prohibited under our Universal Usage Standards and is not a High-risk AI Recommendation.

·High-risk Physical Actions

·When connecting our models to hardware that can take physical actions, users should assess and understand 1) the range of possible outcomes if something goes wrong, 2) the nature and extent of potential impact to individuals, groups or populations, and 3) the degree of control the user maintains relative to the autonomy the model has, including possible risks such as prompt injection or manipulation. The requirements apply when outputs of our products and services are acted upon by hardware without human approval where the hardware or linked equipment can:

  • 1Move through shared space - steer, accelerate, brake, or navigate a vehicle, vessel, aircraft, drone, or mobile robot in a place where people may be present, or on roads, waterways, or airspace.
  • 2Apply force that could cause injury - actuate arms, presses, lifts, hoists, doors, gates, conveyors, or other machinery capable of striking, crushing, pinning, or dropping a load on a person nearby.
  • 3Control hazardous energy or materials - operate heating elements or open flame, pressure systems, high-voltage or high-current circuits, lasers or radiation sources above eye- and skin-safe levels, or control the release, mixing, or dispensing of hazardous chemical or biological materials, at levels capable of causing injury.
  • 4Act on the human body - administer or adjust a drug, fluid, gas, electrical stimulation, or radiation or other energy dose to a person, or cut, penetrate, or move instruments within a person's body or tissue, including through a surgical, interventional, worn, attached, or implanted device.
  • 5Control safety systems - arm, disarm, trigger, or override fire suppression, emergency shutoffs, alarms, ventilation, or locks and barriers that could confine a person.
  • 6Run industrial processes - control plant or process equipment where a fault could injure workers or a member of the public (including diffuse or indirect harms, such as food poisoning or defective products).

·Prohibition Reminder: Our Universal Usage Standards prohibit actions related to weapons, critical infrastructure, violence, and surveillance.

·Exclusions

·The requirements do not apply to:

·AI Recommendations

·Using our products to assist in workflows that are related to, but do not actually provide, High-risk AI Recommendations. Some non-exhaustive examples are:

  • ·General information or educational content, including explaining what a law says, how a condition or treatment works, or how investing works, without applying it to the individual's circumstances.
  • ·Wellness content, such as education on sleep, stress, nutrition, or exercise.
  • ·Explaining or helping an individual understand advice, a diagnosis, or a decision that a qualified person has already given them (as long as it is not an additional High-risk AI Recommendation).
  • ·Internal drafting, research, summarization, or analysis that is not the ultimate High-risk AI Recommendation delivered.
  • ·Carrying out a decision a person has already made, or applying a fixed rule, formula, or algorithm where the model exercises no judgment about the individual.
  • ·Business operations that do not advise or decide about a specific individual.

·Physical Actions

  • ·Consumer and household devices operating within the manufacturer's built-in safety limits, where the worst possible outcome is discomfort or inconvenience.
  • ·Generating plans, code, toolpaths, waypoints, or commands that a qualified person reviews before they are executed on equipment.
  • ·Monitoring, sensing, or reporting on equipment without controlling it.
  • ·Laboratory automation handling non-hazardous materials inside enclosed instruments.

·Favorable Decisions

·Where permitted by law, human-in-the-loop review is not required before acting on a High-risk AI Recommendation wholly favorable to the individual in the following circumstances:

  • ·Paying an insurance claim.
  • ·Approving coverage or prior authorization for care a clinician has ordered.
  • ·Granting eligibility for a healthcare service or program.
  • ·Granting or continuing a public benefit or service.

·Additional legal obligations such as disclosure may still apply. A partial approval, reduced amount, or approval with conditions is not considered "wholly favorable."

·The below use cases - regardless of whether they involve High-risk AI Recommendations or Physical Actions - must comply with the additional guidelines provided.

  • ·All consumer-facing chatbots or AI agents that communicate directly with external users must disclose to users that they are interacting with AI rather than a human. This disclosure must be provided at a minimum at the beginning of each chat session or in the product interface. The disclosure does not need to identify Anthropic, Claude, or the model used.
  • ·Products serving minors, including organizations providing minors with the ability to directly interact with products that incorporate our API(s), must comply with the additional guidelines outlined in our Support article and all applicable laws.
  • ·Agentic use cases must comply with the Usage Policy. Users are responsible for ensuring that agents they build or deploy, including actions those agents take through tools, browsers, or connected systems, comply with this Usage Policy.
  • ·Software listed in our Directories must comply with our Software Directory Policy.

·We also provide additional informational resources in our Safeguards Support Center, including:
